612 domestic violence cases reported to One-Stop Centre in a year

The One-Stop Centre in Lucknow registered 1,600 cases of violence against women from April 2022 to March 2023, a surge of 17% since 2021-22, with domestic violence being the highest among the 18 types of abuse and harassment. The OSCs provide direct intervention in gender-based abuses and other cases of violence against women, and also provide rehabilitation, counselling, and vocational training to the victims of gender abuse. They are responsible for the rescue and rehabilitation of the survivors.

Since 2015, 75 OSCs have been set up in Uttar Pradesh under the Centre’s Mission Shakti scheme. Not only do they provide advocates from the District Legal Services Authority (For representation)
