Out of 5,06,202 regular candidates who appeared in the Telangana SSC examination, 4,67,859 passed, which is a pass percentage of 92.43%. An official said on condition of anonymity that the high pass percentage this year is due to liberal evaluation of answer sheets of Class 10 students to ensure that the students do not get disheartened, in the wake of the recent experience with large number of failures in the Intermediate examination.

Girls performed better than boys in the Telangana SSC examination. The pass percentage for boys among the regular candidates was 91.18%, whereas the pass percentage for girls in the same category was 93.68%, which is 2.5% higher than the boys. Among the private candidates, the pass percentage of girls (61.40%) was 7.75% higher than that of boys ((53.65%).

In the Telangana SSC results declared on Monday, 4,374 schools secured 100% results, while nine schools secured 0% results (for regular candidates).

Among districts, Jagital performed the best with 99.73% students passing, while Hyderabad district stood at the last place with 83.09% students passing.

The BC-welfare schools recorded highest percentage (98.78%) of passes this year, while the government schools (84.38%) recorded the lowest percentage of passes.

Having burnt its fingers with declaration of Intermediate (Class 11 and 12) examination results last month hurriedly, resulting in exposure of large scale goofs-up, the Telangana government has taken utmost caution in the release of the Secondary School Certificate (Class 10) examination results.
