Most Hundreds IPL 2025: Scoring a century in the Indian Premier League (IPL) is a remarkable feat that showcases a batter's skill, temperament and ability to dominate the opposition. Moreover, hitting centuries in the IPL is no easy task, given the tournament's competitive nature and high-quality bowling attacks. Since the inception of the IPL in 2008, several batters have gone on to score centuries and that too in the very first match of the tournament. As of the 2024 season, Virat Kohli leads the list with eight IPL hundreds, followed by Jos Buttler, Chris Gayle, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and others. Along with Kohli, Gill, Rahul and Sanju Samson are the other Indian batters who feature in the top-10 for most hundreds in the IPL.

Then there are the uncapped Indian batters such as Manish Pandey, Paul Valthaty, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar and Yashasvi Jaiswal who have scored splendid tons in the previous editions of the IPL.

Virat Kohli, the highest run-scorer in IPL history, has scored eight centuries in the tournament. His best season came in 2016 when he smashed four hundreds, a record for the most centuries in a single IPL season. In the 2024 edition, he scored an unbeaten 113 off 72 balls against Rajasthan Royals. This knock marked his eighth IPL century and was also the joint-slowest ever in the history of IPL. This was also the second time that Kohli batted through the innings for RCB, and also recorded 7500 runs in the IPL.

Jos Buttler, the aggressive English opener, follows Kohli with seven IPL centuries. He has been one of the most consistent performers in the league. In 2022, Buttler matched Kohli’s record by scoring four hundreds in a single season. His most recent century came in 2024 against RCB, where he marked his 100th IPL appearance with a match-winning ton, reaching the milestone with a six. Buttler also became the second batter after KL Rahul to score a hundred in their 100th IPL appearance.

Chris Gayle is third on the list with six IPL centuries. Known for his explosive batting, Gayle holds the record for the highest individual score in IPL history—an unbeaten 175 against Pune Warriors India in 2013.

Shubman Gill has quickly risen through the ranks to establish himself as one of the top batters in the IPL, scoring four centuries in the tournament. His elegant stroke play and ability to construct an innings make him a vital player for his team. In the 2024 season, he registered his highest IPL score of 129. Moreover, his adaptability across formats has made him a key player in both IPL and international cricket.

KL Rahul, another consistent performer, also has four IPL centuries to his name. His highest score of 132 not out shows his ability to play big innings while maintaining an excellent strike rate. Rahul has been known for his classical yet aggressive batting style, making him a dependable opener. Whether playing for Punjab Kings or Lucknow Super Giants, he has consistently delivered crucial runs for his franchise, and is rated as one of the best IPL batters.

Sanju Samson, the Rajasthan Royals captain, is placed 8th in the list with three IPL centuries to his name. Samson’s leadership and explosive batting have been crucial for RR, and his ability to score quick runs makes him a dangerous player in any match situation. Over the years, he has become a key figure in the Royals’ batting lineup.
