Take immediate action to prevent pollution in Ramnadi, MPCB tells Pune local bodies

The MPCB officials visited Ramnadi on October 20 and took samples, which were sent for further study. After the visit, the pollution control board on October 23 wrote to Zilla Parishad, Pune and Grampanchayat Bhugaon directing them to take preventive measures

The two main sewage lines belong to Zilla Parishad are responsible for the pollution and the untreated sewage is being discharged directly into Ramnadi near Cocorico Hotel, which is under Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) jurisdiction. 6,140 ZP teachers to receive tabs to digitise education in state

Over 2,46,000 government school teachers in Maharashtra will receive tablets preloaded with educational materials in two phases as part of digitalisation of the teaching and learning process. The first phase will see 6,140 teachers across 34 different schools receive tablets this year, while the second phase will involve 97,000 teachers in the academic year 2023-2024. The initiative called the Teachers Resource Package (TRP) aims to assist teachers in creating a successful digital classroom by providing devices and training on how to use technology in the classroom. The project is part of the new National Education Policy.

Telangana gears up for elections to Zilla Parishads, schedule announced

The notification for the second phase, covering 199 ZPTCs and 2,109 MPTCs, will be issued on April 26 and polling would be held on May 10 and the notification for the third and final phase for elections to 124 ZPTCs and 1,343 MPTCs will be issued on April 30 with May 14 as polling day.

The polling stations would be set up in 13,651 locations while the authorities have decided to set up 510 distribution centres and 129 counting centres to facilitate smooth conduct of the polls.(PTI PHOTO)

BJP wins 96% seats uncontested in Tripura panchayat polls

Bypolls were scheduled to be held in 3,386 seats — 3,207 in gram panchayats, 161 in panchayat samitis and 18 zilla parishad seats. However, 3,247 of these (95.89 per cent) were won by the BJP uncontested.
