12 illegal structures razed around IAF ammunition depot

Rs 2 crore bill to run diesel generators prompts probe in Gurugram

As per MCG commissioner Yashpal Yadav, prior to the summer of 2018, the civic body had procured on rent diesel generators for around 60 water boosting stations for power backup and to ensure there is uninterrupted water supply.

An MCG official present at all three meetings said that the tone of these meeting was urgent as the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had, last Tuesday, come down heavily on district authorities for unscientific management of waste at the Bandhwari landfill.

He maintained that since most terraces and rooftops lie vacant in all MCG buildings, officials realised its potential for erecting mobile towers. He further said the central government has recently given licences to numerous private companies for establishing electric vehicle recharge units.

MCG officials suspended for illegal registry of land

According to MCG officials, a tehsildar (revenue collector), a kanungo (land measurer), and a patwari (land accountant) had allegedly colluded and illegally modified MCG’s land records of Balliawas village to transfer a three-acre vacant plot located at the foothills of Aravallis, near the Faridabad border, to seven people.

Following the discovery of illegal registry, the MCG had decided to freeze the registry of all of its 26,000 acres of land in the city to ensure that it cannot be illegally transferred to any private or government organisation.(HT Photo)
