5 rescued after fire breaks out at mall in Gurugram

According to fire department officials, the Sector 29 fire headquarters received a call about the incident at 6.18am. At least 15 fire tenders were used for dousing and rescue operations and it took officials around four hours to bring the situation under control

Gurugram civic body overhauls its property tax system

The MCG has removed most of its citizen services from under the online property tax system on its website www.mcg.gov.in. Residents can now raise all such issues only via the Haryana government’s no dues certificate (NDC) portal, ulbhryndc.org

Grap measure: Civic body bans tree pruning in Gurugram till Jan 2023

The MCG also decided to set up hoardings along stretches with high construction activities such as Golf Course Extension Road, Southern Peripheral Road, Dwarka Expressway, and Sohna Road. It took commuters at least 45 minutes to traverse the 4.7km stretch, from the cloverleaf flyover to HHC, which otherwise takes around 10 minutes even during peak hours. Delhi lane of Gurugram’s Hero Honda flyover to be closed from September 21-26

According to traffic police, the 1.4km-long carriageway is being closed due to a span load test work which will be executed along the stretch by the National Highways Authority of India

Safety drive: Traffic cops fine 20 school bus drivers in Gurugram

The Gurugram traffic police on Wednesday morning conducted a surprise inspection of school buses across the city, and issued fines to at least 20 drivers for allegedly driving without a licence, requisitioning of vehicle registration papers, and not wearing uniforms, among other such violations, said officials

MCG takeover of Greenwood City, Mayfield Gardens societies by Sept 7

Both the colonies were developed in the early 2000s. Residents’ welfare association (RWA) officials said that over the last two decades due to poor upkeep and maintenance, a large number of roads in the two colonies have developed potholes, drains are clogged and filled with silt and parks and green belts are also unkempt. Residents and RWAs are hoping that after the MCG takeover, these issues will be addressed and better civic amenities will be offered to them

3 months after inspection, Sec-10 civil hospital yet to be made fire-proof

Three months after the Gurugram fire department visited the Sector 10 Civil Hospital and found that it not only is operating without an NOC but does not even have the basic firefighting equipment in place, there has been no change in the establishment that sees a daily footfall of more than 2,000, said officials on Tuesday
