What is the best time for walking? Nutritionist reveals it's not your early morning walks
Walking in this golden time period is twice more effective than your regular walking time, according to a nutritionist.
Walking is one of the easiest way to get moving and prevent a sedentary lifestyle. It keeps you active, and its simplicity makes it sustainable, too. Usually, people chase their daily step count targets, going for long walks at the crack of dawn. However, there is an even more effective walking session that offers greater benefits than walking all the steps in one go.

Clinical nutritionist Dr Riddhi Patel took to Instagram on March 21 to share a walking time that boosts your health more than the longer walking sessions.

Is walking after meals more effective?
Dr Riddhi explained that walking 10 minutes after your meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) is more effective than the morning walk.
She further elaborated that a total of 30 minutes of walking spread across the day, immediately after meals, offers twice the health benefits of a single, long morning walk.
What are the benefits of walking after meals?
Dr Riddhi said, “ Not only it helps in digestion but it also results in lower sugar spike, post meals. So if you are diabetic, this is one rule, you should swear by.”
Try to incorporate this habit into your daily routine by walking after at least one meal. Instead of completing all 10,000 steps in one go, you can break them down and walk after each meal. This way, you reap double the benefits, achieving your daily step goal while also gaining the health advantages of post-meal walks, such as keeping your blood sugar levels in check.
