Tarun Tahiliani
From fashionable, feminine, and most importantly, beautifully bridal cocktail lehengas with down-to-there décolletage, Tarun Tahiliani’s collection, titled In Elysium, is a modern take (light and airy dresses that were subtly skin-baring) on traditional, majestic silhouettes (rich textures) that are a perfect fit for modern brides. Luxe fabrics, impeccable craftsmanship, and elegant simplicity were hallmarks of this collection, which took the designer five months to create. In super calming blues, reds, pinks and a whisper of ivory, the designer mixed pretty feminine details like gorgeous laser-cut floral appliqués and all-over crystal beads infused with delicate stones, elegant feathers and metallics in unexpected, modern ways.

Anju Modi
The designer’s collection, A Maiden’s Prayer, drew on inspiration from the Victorian era. The designer took a step back in time and tried to bring alive the historically significant era through cuts, silhouettes and designs. Rich and heavy fabrics such as velvet, silk and brocade were spotted throughout, and to make it even more dreamier, Modi stuck to a jewel tone colour palette. There was a fresh sense of polish, timelessness, and romanticism throughout the collection, with a wide range of silhouettes from A-line, to circle skirts, fit and flare, all creating beautiful movement and a powerful but understated vision. Fabrics were layered, and combined in unexpected ways for a truly unique gown for the bride.
India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
