Kangana Ranaut is a Victorian chic bride at Anju Modi’s India Couture Week 2018 show

Kangana Ranaut is a fashion powerhouse. The actor walked the runway in an extravagant Anju Modi lehenga at India Couture Week 2018 (ICW 2018) at Taj Palace, New Delhi on Wednesday that every bride-to-be will want to get her hands on in the coming months.

Your wedding dress shopping journey starts right now: Here’s Kangana sporting a head-turning cream lehenga with a very Victorian-style luxe velvet jacket, complete cape sleeves and bouquets of floral embroidery sprinkled with delicate beading. The actor topped off the look with her hair styled into a half-do with voluminous curls.

Kangana’s hand-crafted regal-feeling ensemble with a plunging neckline and an optional contrasting embellished cape is for sophisticated, forward -thinking brides, who are really looking for something unique and different, but still cherish timeless designs with ultra-feminine twists, elevated textures and highly luxurious accents.

Modi’s collection, A Maiden’s Prayer, drew on inspiration from the Victorian era. The designer took a step back in time and tried to bring alive the historically significant era through cuts, silhouettes and designs. Rich and heavy fabrics such as velvet, silk and brocade were spotted throughout, and to make it even more dreamier, Modi stuck to a jewel tone colour palette.

There was a fresh sense of polish, timelessness, and romanticism throughout the collection, with a wide range of silhouettes from A-line, to circle skirts, fit and flare to fishtails, all creating beautiful movement and a powerful but understated vision. Fabrics were layered, and combined in unexpected ways for a truly unique gown for the bride.

India Couture Week, presented by Hindustan Times and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance, will be on from July 25 to July 29, in Delhi.
