WBBSE West Bengal Board Madhyamik Result declared: Here are the highlights
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has declared the results for Madhyamik 2019 or Bengal’s Class 10 board examination today. Over 10 lakh candidates will get their results today. According to WBBSE president, Kalyanmoy Ganguly, the results will be declared on May 21 at 10 am and on the same day the aspirants will be able to collect their marksheets from their respective schools. “Students will also be able to check their results on the official websites of the board namely wbbse.org and wbresults.nic.in,” Ganguly said.

WBBSE Board Result 2019: Result at a glance
The pass percentage of the other physically students this year was also quite impressive. A total of 185 visually challenged candidates appeared out of which 175 (94.59%) –passed. A total of 152 hearing –impaired candidates appeared, out of which 132 (86.64%) passed. In case of other physically challenged candidates,352 (87.78%) of 401 passed.

Saugata Das, from Mahammedpur Deshpran Vidyapith School in East Midnapore district of West Bengal ranked first scoring 694 (99.14%) of 700. “This is again a record in the history of the board,” Ganguly said.

WBBSE announced the result in 88 days
Announcing the results here on Tuesday, WBBSE president, Kalyanmoy Ganguly, said that this year the results were declared within 88 days from the last date of examinations. “This year pass percentage was recorded at 86.07%, which is a record in the history of the board. Last year pass percentage was 85.49%” he said.

Measures taken by WBBSE following paper leaks report of 2018
Following reports of question paper leaks during the previous years, in 2019, WBBSE took a number of precautionary measures including changing the norms of opening question paper packets.
This year, the invigilators opened sealed packets of question papers in front of students and then distributed the same among them. The decision was taken following the incident in 2018 when the headmaster of Subhasnagar High School in Jalpaiguri district of north Bengal was charged with opening question paper packets 35 minutes before the scheduled time.

In 2019, Bengal’s Class 10 board examination started from February 12 and continued till February 22. This year the number of aspirants stood at 10,64,980, a dip by 18,408 than what it was in 2018. Of the total of 10,64,980 aspirants this year, 6,03,311 (56.65%) were girls and 4,61,669 (43.35%) were boys.
