West Bengal board 10th result 2019 declared, Saugata Das tops WBBSE matric exam with 99.14% marks
West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the results for Madhyamik or Class 10 board examinations on May 21.
Saugata Das, from Mahammedpur Deshpran Vidyapith School in East Midnapore district of West Bengal ranked first scoring 694 (99.14%) of 700. This is a record in the history of the board.

West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) declared the results for Madhyamik or Class 10 board examinations on May 21. The pass percentage this year is 86.07%, which is a record in the history of the board.
The pass percentage of girls is 82.87%, while in case of boys the figure is 89.97%.
Students who have appeared in the exam can check their results on the official websites of the board at wbbse.org and wbresults.nic.in.
In 2019, West Bengal’s Class 10 board examination started on February 12 and continued till February 22. This year the number of aspirants stood at 10,64,980, a dip by 18,408 than what it was in 2018. Of the total of 10,64,980 students, 6,03,311 (56.65%) were girls and 4,61,669 (43.35%) were boys.
Following reports of question paper leaks during the previous years, in 2019, WBBSE took a number of precautionary measures including changing the norms of opening question paper packets.
