The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2016. The examination was conducted on August 7, 2016.

The commission conducts the exam to select candidates to fill administrative positions in all-India services and central civil services, including Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and others.

Candidates who appeared in the exam can check their results by visiting the official website of UPSC.

Candidates who qualify in this preliminary examination will be allowed to write the second phase of the examination, which is the main. Candidates who clear the main examination will be called for the interview. The final selection will be made on the basis of the marks obtained in the main examination and the interview.

“The candidates who have been declared successful have to first get themselves registered on the relevant page of the website before filling up the online detailed examination form,” the UPSC said.

The e-admit card, along with the time table of the main examination, will be uploaded on the Commission’s website --www.upsc.gov.in -- to the eligible candidates around two weeks before the commencement of the examination.

Successful candidates have been asked to fill a detailed application form, which will be available on the website of the Commission from October 7 to 20, till 6 pm , for the civil services main examination.

Candidates are also informed that marks, cut-off marks and answer keys of screening test will be uploaded on the Commission website only after the declaration of final result of Civil Services Examination, 2016, the Commission said.

The Commission has a facilitation counter near the examination hall building on its campus at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi.

Candidates may obtain any information or clarification regarding their result on all working days between 10 am and 5 pm, in person or calling on telephone numbers 011-23385271, 011-23098543 or 011-23381125 from the facilitation counter.
