UP Board Result 2018: Here are 10 things you should know

UP Board Results 2018 for high school or Class 10 and intermediate or Class 12 board examinations is likely to be declared on Sunday, April 29. There were 664,000 candidates, including 366,000 for high school and 298,000 for intermediate exams, who registered for the exams conducted by the UP Board High School from February 6 to March 12.

However, more than 11,27,800 students dropped out of the exams due to strict anti-copying measures and 1,146 were caught using unfair means.

Here are 10 things you should know ahead of the declaration of results:

1) UP Board High School and Intermediate results to be declared on Sunday at Board’s headquarters in Allahabad.

2) UP Board director Awadh Naresh Sharma to arrive from Lucknow at 9 am while secretary Neena Srivastava will arrive from Delhi with results at 7am.

3) Officials to hold a brief meeting at Board headquarters before heading for the press briefing to declare results.

4) The results of high school and Intermediate will be declared jointly for the fourth time after the trend commenced in 2015. Joint declaration of results saves funds and time of the Board.

5) Preparations for declaration of results at Board’s headquarters have been completed, said senior officials of the Board who reviewed arrangements on Saturday.

6) This year 664,000 candidates, including 366,000 for high school and 298,000 for intermediate exams, registered for the exams conducted by the UP Board High School from February 6 to March 12.

7) However, more than 11,27,800 (17%) students dropped out of the exams due to strict anti-copying measures and 1,146 were caught for using unfair means. Police lodged 136 complaints against students for indulging in unfair means as well as invigilators and centre superintendents for helping them to cheat.

8) The exams were held under closed-circuit television or CCTV cameras for the first time this year and state police’s special task force was also roped in to check copying.

9) Evaluation of over 5,00,00,000 answer sheets began on March 17 at 248 centres in the state by around 140,000 teachers under CCTV with personnel of the special task force and Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) keeping a watch in different parts of the state.

10) The intermediate or Class 12 board results are expected at 12.30pm, while the high school or Class 10 board results are expected at 1.30pm.
