RRB NTPC 2016 exam: Updated answer key in September or October

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has said that it will release the updated answer keys and candidates’ response for Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) examination 2016 on its websites in September or October.

In a notification issued on Tuesday, the RRB said that the updated answer keys will take into consideration the objections raised by candidates to questions/answer keys that were released on August 12.

Results of the examination may be declared after the release of the updated answer keys.

The notification further said that the board will conduct a second stage computer based test (CBT) for various NTPC (graduate) category. Only those candidates who cleared the first stage of the exam held between March 28 and May will be called for the second stage of the exam.

The number of candidates called for the second stage of the exam will be 15 times the number of vacancies.

The final selection for the posts will be based on merit position obtained by the candidates in the second stage and/or the result of Aptitude Test/Typing Skill Test wherever applicable. Normalisation of marks will be done as per extant rules in first and the second stage of the exam.

The second stage of the exam is likely to have questions about general awareness, mathematics, general intelligence and reasoning. The test will have 120 multiple choice objective questions and candidates will get 90 minutes to solve them.

The date of the second stage will be announced on RRB’s website after it is finalised.

The online written exams to fill 18,252 vacancies in various technical and non-technical posts of RRB were held across the country between March-May 2016. About 92 lakh aspirants applied for the NTPC exam and about 56 lakh finally took the paper.

The advertisement (CEN 03/2015) regarding the exam, published in December 2015, sought to recruit people for various posts, including assistant station master, clerk, goods guard, typist, apprentice and junior accounts assistant.
