A re-examination is being conducted for the second shift (batch-II) of August 27. Thereafter, the result for tier-I would be declared on November 8, SSC chairperson Ashim Khurana said.

In a statement, he urged students not to be affected by a “propaganda” by “vested interests”.

“The candidates can rest assured that the selection process through this examination, which is to be conducted in four tiers, would be entirely merit-based wherein only the most competent candidates would be selected to man important positions in the Government of India,” Khurana said on Wednesday.

The examination was conducted under “elaborate arrangements” wherein, the entire examination process was “closely monitored” on a near real-time basis. “Except for one standalone incident at one of the venues at Bhagalpur, which was effectively neutralised at its inception stage and had a ‘zero impact’ on the entire examination process, the examination in the remaining 43 batches is totally sanitised and sacrosanct,” the statement added.
