Haryana Board Topper: Son of a labourer Deepak had no teachers in school, scores 497/500

Talking to HT, Deepak said his school did not have teachers for Physics, Chemistry and Maths. “I joined tuitions for physics and chemistry and studied maths myself. I studied for at least 10 hours everyday,” he said.
Deepak’s father is a labourer in Bhiwani and his mother is a homemaker. He has five sisters, four of whom are elder to him. “All my sisters are also educated. Despite a shortage of money, my father ensured all of us get education. I studied in private school till Class 10 and then shifted to government school,” he said.
Deepak said he wants to be an engineer in future.
Board of School Education (BSE) Haryana on Wednesday declared the results of Class 12th (intermediate) exam for all streams.74.48% students passed the Haryana board Class 12 exams.
Around 2.15 lakh candidates had appeared in the Class 12 exams this year. The Haryana Board intermediate exams began on March 7 and concluded on April 5 this year.
