According to a press release issued by NTA, for January attempt 9,29,198 candidates and for April attempt 9,35,755 candidates were registered out of which 8,74,469 students in January and 8,81,096 students in April simultaneously appeared in the examination.

Over 2.4 lakh candidates likely to register for JEE Advanced
The total number of eligible candidates could be slightly higher than 2.45 lakh in case of tied ranks/scores in any category,” read a statement released by the admissions authority. In 2018, 2.31 lakh students were eligible for the JEE-Adv exam.
