JAC 10th Result 2018: Jharkhand board matric result out, here’s direct link to check

The Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) announced the JAC 10th result on Tuesday, ending the wait for over 400,000 students. The pass percentage this year is 59.48%.

Boys performed better than girls. While 61.79% boys passed, the pass percentage of girls was 57.29%.

Of the 4, 28,379 students who took the exam, 2,54,830 passed. Hazaribagh district scored the highest pass percentage of 74.75%, followed by Ranchi (72.93%) and E. Singhbhum (68.23%).

Of the 2,08, 701 boys who sat for the exam, 1,28,959 cleared it. A total of 2,19,688 girls took the exam and 1,25,871 passed it.

The result was announced at a press conference at JAC’s Ranchi office by the council’s chairperson Arvind Prasad Singh.

Students can also check their results on the JAC official website. Due to heavy traffic, jac.jharkhand.gov.in may take some time to load.

Sources in the council said the announcement of JAC 10th result was delayed as the evaluation procedure took some time. There was a speculation that the results would be declared either on June 9 or June 10.

There were 431,734 students who wrote the matric exams this year in 954 examination centres across the state. The examinations concluded on March 21.

The council was expecting a better performance this year after 67.91% students cleared the exams in 2017. The pass percentage in 2016 was 67.54%.

JAC declared the results of intermediate or Class 12 science and commerce streams on June 7 and 48.34% science students and 67.49% commerce candidates cleared the exams.

The result of Class 12 arts stream is yet to be announced.

“The evaluation process of intermediate (arts) is still going on. Therefore, no date of results can be given right now,” the council’s vice-chairperson Phool Singh said.

This year, 316,369 students appeared in intermediate exams - 92,073 in science stream, 40,173 in commerce and 1,84,123 in humanities - across 436 centres in the state. The exams concluded on April 3.

The council installed closed-circuit television or CCTV cameras for the first time this year at all exam and evaluation centres to ensure transparency. And, the entire procedure from registration to admit card issuance was made online.
