ICSE Class 10 results: Every fourth student from Chandigarh schools crosses the 90% mark
Competition is getting tougher with each passing year, say school officials
Even though every fourth students from Chandigarh schools have scored more than 90% in ICSE Class 10 board results, none of them are ranked among the national toppers. On the contrary, Raghu Mahajan from Chandigarh secured all-India ICSE top rank with 96.8% in 2006. Times have changed and none of the eight schools in Panchkula, Chandigarh, Mohali can boast of a tricity topper.

According to the sources, the percentage of students scoring above 90% in the city's ICSE schools has even gone down.

At Stephen's School Sector 45, out of 203 Class-10 students, 12 students have secured 95% above and a total of 51 students have secured between 90-95%.
Meanwhile in Tender Heart School, out of 66 Class-10 students, only 10 of them secured above 90%.
Out of 97 students of Strawberry Fields, 30 students have secured more than 90%, and in St Xavier's Senior Secondary School, 20 scored 90% and above out of 209..
The principal of St Stephen's School, Sector 45, Jacob Mary, said, "I believe 97% is more than good enough, our 63 students have secured above 90%, beating Raghu's all-India record."
St Stephen’s School official said, "The competition is getting tougher each year. It is a race going on every year to secure marks even if the concepts are not clear.”
