IBPS (CWE RRBs-V) recruitment notification 2016 out, check it here

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Group ‘A’ officers (Scale I, II and III) and Group ‘B’ office assistants (multipurpose) in participating regional rural banks (RRBs).

The notification (CWE RRBs-V), which was issued on September 9, to fill up 16,560 posts can be seen on the IBPS’s official website. Out of the total posts, 5,539 are for officers scale I, 1,999 posts for officers scale II and 8,824 posts for office assistants.

Interested candidates need to apply for the examination that will be held online in 209 cities across the country tentatively in November and December 2016.

For those who want to apply for the posts of officers scale I and office assistants (multipurpose), the online examination will be held in two phases: preliminary and main. Candidates who apply for the post of office assistants will be provisionally allotted on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the main examination and the vacancies reported by the RRBs.

For the post of officers scale I, candidates clearing the preliminary examination will have to appear for the main examination and shortlisted candidates will then be called for an interview.

Those who want to appear for officers scale II (generalist and specialists) and scale III will have to take a single online examination and the shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.

The online registration process begins on September 14 and will continue till September 30, 2016. The online preliminary examination for officer scale I will be held on November 5 and November 6, 2016, while for office assistants it will be held on November 12 and 13 and November 19 (if required). The results of the preliminary examination will be declared in November for officer scale I and in December for office assistant.

The main examination for officers (I, II and III) will be held on December 11, 2016, while for office assistant it will be held on December 18, 2016. The declaration of results of main (for officers scale I, II and III) will be done in December 2016 and their interview will be conducted in January 2017.

The provisional allotment of banks to successful candidates (for officers scale I, II and III and office assistants) will be made in February 2017. All these dates are tentative.

A candidate can apply for the post of office assistant and can also apply for that of an officer. However, a candidate can apply for only one post in officer’s cadre i.e. for officer scale I or scale II or scale III. Candidates have to apply separately and pay fees/intimation charges separately for each post applied for.

Eligibility criteria (Age)

Age (As on 01.09.2016)

For officer scale I - Above 18 years - Below 30 years ie candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.09.1986 and later than 31.08.1998 (both dates inclusive)

For officer scale II- Above 21 years - Below 32 years ie candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.09.1984 and later than 31.08.1995 (both dates inclusive)

For officer scale III- Above 21 years - Below 40 years ie candidates should not have been born earlier than 03.09.1976 and later than 31.08.1995 (both dates inclusive)

For office assistant (multipurpose) - Between 18 years and 28 years ie candidates should have not been born earlier than 02.09.1988 and later than 01.09.1998 (both dates inclusive)

Note: There is an age relaxation for reserved category candidates (see in notification below).

Preliminary exam pattern

The preliminary examination will be of 45-minute duration, with two sections carrying 80 marks for 80 questions.

For officer scale I there will be 40 questions of reasoning and 40 questions of quantitative aptitude while for office assistant there will be 40 questions of reasoning and 40 questions of numerical ability. The medium of exam will be Hindi/English.

To be successful (for both posts), one needs to qualify in both the tests by securing a minimum cut-off marks set by the IBPS.
