Haryana police constable job: 10,000 candidates’ fate hangs in balance

The fate of 10,000 candidates for the post of Haryana police constable hangs in balance as they were sent back from the physical screening test (PST) even as the Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has conducted a written test of eligible candidates.

Despite the fact that applicants had letter of HSSC secretary for the PST at 5pm on August 22 at Kurukshetra, they were not allowed to appear in the test.

The HSSC was conducting recruitment of police constables and had issued the schedule for the PST from July 16 to 25.

“After a month-long practice, we reached to the venue at Kurukshetra as per the schedule on July 22, but the police officials deputed there said that there were no guidelines for further physical screening test and they asked us to go back,” said Mohit Sharma, an applicant of Ladwa of Kurukshetra district.

“The staff selection commission had issued schedule. We even had the admit cards for PST but there was no communication as to when our physical screening will be conducted,” he added. As per the sources, candidates from Roll no 1001347827 to 1001505564, who were to appear for the PST from July 22 (evening shift) to July 25 (evening shift) were not allowed to appear in the exam and were sent back.

HSSC neither put up any notice at the recruitment spot, nor issued clarification citing reason for the cancellation. The HSSC officials are keeping mum over the issue.
