Announcing the results, director of the board Amarnath Verma said girls secured an overall pass percentage of 91.11 in Class 10 or high school examinations as against boys who registered an overall result of 84.82%.
In Class 12 or intermediate examinations, girls secured an overall pass percentage of 92.46 and boys achieved a pass percentage of 84.35.

All the top three positions in both high school and intermediate examinations were secured by girls.
In high school, the overall pass percentage of 87.66 was registered which is 3.92% more than last year. In intermediate, an overall result of 87.99% was registered which is 0.84% less than last year.
Saumya Patel of Vibgyor Public Inter College Chandauli, Rae Bareli secured the top spot in high school exam with 98.67% marks and the Iqra and Umrah Mahmood of the same institution came second by securing 98.17%.
Three students - Nisha Sahu of Kanpur’s Shivaji Inter College, Garima of Surya Narayan Inter College, Ambedkar Nagar and Disha Kesarwani of Hazi Mohd Amin Inter College in Basti - scored 97.83%.

In intermediate examinations, Sakshi Verma of Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Inter College in Barabanki emerged as the topper with 98.20% followed by Pratima Singh and Sonali Verma of the same institution, who scored 98% to become the second toppers.
The third spot also witnessed a tie between Divyanshi of Mahendra Neelam Inter College, Tirwa, Kannau and Prerna Verma of Maharani Laxmi Bai Memorial Inter College, Barabanki. The students secured 97.80%.
In high school examinations a total of 32,59,203 students, including 17,87,294 boys and 14,71,909 girls, who appeared for the examination, 28,56,998 were declared successful.
In intermediate, out of the total of 29,17,268 students, including 16,12,756 boys and 13,04,512 girls, a total of 25,66,772 cleared the exams.
The pass percentage of regular candidates in high school exams was registered at 88% and that of private candidates was 75.07%. In intermediate exams, the pass percentage of regular candidates was 88.10% while that of private candidates was 85.83%.
