The NEET UG result has caused an uproar this year, with aspirants and parents demanding a probe and re-examination, alleging that the paper was leaked at certain centres where students received high scores and complaints over “inflation of marks” of students who were compensated with grace marks for the loss of time.

Candidates were compensated with marks for lost time based on their answering efficiency and time lost, as per the mechanism/ formula established by the Supreme Court in its judgment dated June 13, 2018, in W.P. 551 of 2018. The NTA said 1563 candidates were compensated for the loss of time.

Even those with a perfect score of 720 aren't securing seats in AIIMS Delhi due to only 46 general category seats. How can this happen?”

NEET Result Controversy Live: A Public Interest Litigation was filed in the Rajasthan High Court by Keshav Pareek alleging that the NTA failed to take action over alleged irregularities, arbitrariness, and malpractices in conducting NEET (UG) 2024. Pareek in his PIL said the NTA initially accepted online applications for NEET (UG) 2024 from February 9 to March 9, 2024 and for the first time in NEET's history, the NTA reopened the application portal on April 8, 2024, which raised suspicions.

NEET Result 2024, SC hearing Live Updates: The Supreme Court refused to stay the counselling process for undergraduate medical courses.

“We will not stop the counselling. If you argue further, we will dismiss this,” the court said.

NEET Result 2024 Live Updates: The Supreme Court on Monday noted that the scantily of the NEET UG examination has been affected and the National Testing Agency must provide answers for it.

The top court has issued notice to the NTA and the government after hearing the exam cancellation plea filed by 10 candidates and tagged it with a pending petition for July 8. However, the top court refused to put a stay on the counselling process for the UG medical admissions.

NEET Result 2024 Controversy Live Updates: After the NEET result declaration, Ayushi Patel, a candidate from Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow, said she should've scored 715 marks in the medical entrance examination.

In a video post, Patel said after the NEET result was announced, she was unable to check marks and an error message was showing “your result is not been generated”.

“One hour after the announcement of the result, I got an email from the NTA saying my result can not be generated due to torn and damaged OMR,” the candidate said.

She said she replied the NTA on the same email asking for a photocopy of her OMR, which was successfully registered and the image was sent to her within 24 hours.

Showing the OMR sheet she claimed was sent by the agency, Patel said it appeared to her the barcode was torn “intentionally” and all the bubbles (her OMR responses) were clearly visible.

“When we checked it manually, we found that my NEET score was 715, which I also calculated using the final answer key.”

The candidate has filed a petition at the Allahabad High Court and the hearing is scheduled for today (Tuesday), June 11.

Meanwhile, the NTA has issued a statement on the viral video that the torn OMR answer sheet was not sent via an official ID.

NEET Result 2024 Controversy Live Updates: In a post on X, the agency said that no torn OMR was sent to the candidate via an official NTA ID.

OMR answer sheet is intact and scores are accurate as per official record. Candidates should download scorecards only from the website exams.nta.ac.in/NEET, it said.

NEET Result 2024 Controversy Live Updates: Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalim posted on X on Sunday that his party was the first to foresee the hazards of NEET and undertook a large-scale campaign against it.

“After coming to power, we constituted a High-Level Committee headed by Justice A.K. Rajan to study the impact of NEET-based admission process. The Committee's report, based on extensive data analysis and inputs from students, parents, and the public, has been published and shared with various State Governments to expose NEET's anti-poor and anti-social justice nature,” he said.

The Tamil Nadu Assembly had passed a bill seeking the exemption of the state from the medical entrance examination and it is awaiting the President's approval.

NEET Result 2024 Controversy Live Updates: The NTA said around 1,600 candidates from six centres were given wrong question papers and two to three candidates got torn OMR sheets, which resulted in the loss of time. The concerned candidates went to the High Court requesting for re-exam or compensatory marks. A committee of experts was formed to look into the issue, which recommended that they (students) should be compensated for time loss.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Sunday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the alleged irregularities in the NEET UG exam, saying he would be the voice of the students inParliament and raise issues related to their future.
