CAT 2023 Result live: IIM CAT scorecard released at iimcat.ac.in, 14 scores 100 percentile

This year a total of 14 candidates all boys got 100 percentile including 4 from Maharashtra, 2 from Telangana and one each from UP, Andhra Pradesh, Delhi Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

The CAT 2023 score is valid only till December 31, 2024 and will accordingly be accessible on the website.

CAT 2023 was conducted across the country at 375 test centers spread across 167 cities on 26 November 2023 in three shifts.

A total of 29 candidates have scored 99.99 percentile out of which 22 engineers and 7 non engineers.

Out of the 3.28 lakhs registered eligible candidates, the distribution of candidates by category and gender was as follows: Gender wise: 65% males, 35% females, and 8 candidates represent transgender; Category wise: EWS- 4.72%, General – 67.65%, NC-OBC – 16.70%, SC – 8.60%, ST – 2.33%, PWD – 0.43%.

IIM Lucknow has released the CAT 2023 scorecard at iimcat.ac.in.

There were a total of 66 questions, of which 24 were in Section 1: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), 20 in Section 2: Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and 22 questions in Section 3: Quantitative Ability (QA).

As informed by IIM Lucknow, around 2.88 lakh of the total 3.28 lakh registered candidates appeared in the examination. The overall attendance was 88 per cent.

Step 1: Calculate the total number of candidates (N) who appeared for CAT (i.e. including morning, afternoon and evening sessions).

Step 2: Assign a rank (r), based on the scaled scores obtained in the QA section, to all candidates who appeared for CAT. In the case of two or more candidates obtaining identical scaled scores in the QA section, assign identical ranks to all those candidates. As an illustration suppose exactly two candidates obtain the highest scaled score in the QA section, then both of those candidates are assigned a rank of 1. Moreover, the candidate(s) obtaining the second highest scaled score in the QA section are assigned a rank of 3 and so on.

Step 3: Calculate the percentile score (P) of a candidate with rank (r) in the QA section as:

Step 4: Round off the calculated percentile score (P) of a candidate up to two decimal points.

This year a total of 3.28 lakh candidates were registered for the Common Admission Test or CAT 2023 and of them, around 2.88 lakh or 88 per cent took the test.
