The Union health ministry postponed the NEET-PG entrance examination as a "precautionary measure" in the wake of allegations on the integrity of certain competitive exams.

The health ministry had said it would undertake a thorough assessment of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG, conducted by the NBEMS along with its technical partner TCS.

NEET PG 2024 Date Live: The revised date for NEET PG 2024 is expected on Monday or Tuesday, said Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The president of NBEMS also mentioned last week that the revised date is expected by next week.

Further, it is uncertain whether new admit cards will be issued or candidates will be allowed to use their previous hall tickets on the day of the exam.

The NEET-PG exam was postponed by the government following rising controversy regarding alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG and other exams.

"The integrity of this examination was never in doubt as far as NEET PG is concerned. For the last seven years, we have conducted so far successfully... Because of the recent events, what has happened that there were lots of concerns about all these sorts of examinations from the student communities and in response to that, the government has decided to ensure once more to make sure that the sanctity of the examination the safety and security must be maintained. Dr Abhijat Sheth, Director, NBEMS, last week said that a meeting was held between the officials of the Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Examination to assess the situation and the input received by the government before postponing the examination.

"It was mainly related to the review of the processes for computer-based examination and a lot of inputs has been received by the government and a lot of directions has been given by the government to the examination body and the TCS," he told ANI. Read
