The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will publish the notification for Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examination 2016 after modalities for the Computer Based Examination Mode (CBEM) is finalised.

The commission said on Wednesday that it is still in the process of finalising the modalities for holding the examination in the CBEM. It was expected to publish the notification on July 2.
Lakhs of students take this examination that provides an opportunity to get into a government job straight after Class 12. The all-India examination is conducted for the recruitment of data entry operator (DEO), lower division clerk (LDC) and postal assistant/sorting assistants.

Last year, the commission issued the notification for the examination on June 13. It advertised the recruitment notification for 3,523 postal assistants/sorting assistant posts, 2,049 LDC posts and 1,006 DEO posts.
Candidates appearing for the post of DEO have to clear a written examination of 200 marks followed by skill test of qualifying nature and those for the post of postal assistants and sorting assistants and LDCs on a computer have to clear a written exam followed by a qualifying typing test.
The results of the CHSL written examinations 2015 has not been declared yet. The tentative date for announcing the results was July 22.
