CBSE makes special arrangements to conduct NEET in Srinagar

Students appearing for National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) II on July 24 will be able to use their admit card as curfew passes in violence-hit Srinagar.

In a statement issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Thursday, the board said that with Srinagar being one of the centres, they have made special arrangements to ensure those taking the exam face no problem.

Srinagar is one of the centres for the NEET exam.

Delhi Public School, Athwajan, Bypass Chowk was one of the centres for the NEET exam. However, the centre has been shifted to Sri Pratap College, MA Road and Amar Singh College.

“CBSE will be conducting NEET on 24 July, 2016. For NEET-II, Srinagar was also made the centre city. As presently curfew is imposed in Srinagar, State Government is providing all necessary support to conduct the NEET-II in Srinagar to the CBSE and to the candidates,” said a press statement issued by the CBSE.

The admit card issued by the CBSE will be considered as curfew passes as agreed by the state government, it said.

CBSE is sending SMSes and e-mails to the candidates about the change of their centres.

Notification has been issued and uploaded on their website — www.cbse.nic.in.

The printed copy of the admit card will be made available to the candidates from July 23.
