CBSE Class 12 results: Three girls among five toppers in City Beautiful Chandigarh
For the tiny Union Territory of Chandigarh, 2017 was a special year with Bhoomi Sawant, scoring 99.4% in science to emerge as the all-India second topper and Mannat Luthra and Aditya Jain jointly bagging the third rank with 99.2% in commerce.
It was too good to last. After the city created a buzz nationally last year when three of its students were all-India toppers in the Central Board of Secondary Examinations Class 12 exams, 2018 has been pretty tame with just one tricity topper scoring 98.8% in humanities.

For the tiny Union Territory of Chandigarh, 2017 was a special year with Bhoomi Sawant, scoring 99.4% in science to emerge as the all-India second topper and Mannat Luthra and Aditya Jain jointly bagging the third rank with 99.2% in commerce.
This year, Kush Bansal is the only topper from the tricity to secure more than 98%.
The other top scorers of 2018 include medical topper Adhish Beri, with 97.2% from Sri Guru Harkrishan Model School, Sector 38-D; non-medical toppers Ananya Gaur from Bhavan Vidyalaya School, Sector 27 and Ishika Aggarwal from St Peter’s School, Sector 37, both with 96.6%. Deepti from Government Model
Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 16, and Shubham Kumar from Kendriya Vidyalaya, 3BRD, Chandigarh, both with 97.6%, have topped in commerce.
For Ishika Aggarwal, the results came as a surprise. “I was not even expecting such high scores. I am now waiting for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Advance results (for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology and other top engineering colleges), after which I shall think of something.” There are 76 private schools and 40 government schools in the city.
