CBSE 12th Board: All India third topper Piyush Jha says ‘Feels like a dream to get this rank’
All India third topper Piyush Jha says “I just did not expect that I will score such high marks; it almost feels like a dream to me,” said Jha who had already started celebrating his achievement with his siblings.
Piyush Kumar Jha of Oak Grove School, Mussoorie who secured All India Rank 3 in class 12 for Central Board of Secondary Education, said that the result almost feels like a dream. He scored 497 out of 500 in Humanities stream.

“I just did not expect that I will score such high marks; it almost feels like a dream to me,” said Jha who had already started celebrating his achievement with his siblings.
He said that regular studies and planning was what helped him get the All India Rank 3. “I planned my daily goals and studied accordingly. I did not even study for long hours. Just before exams I used to study for around eight hours in a day,” added Jha. He said that the complete credit for his result goes to his school, that gave him the perfect environment for studying along with teachers who were always available to help.
He said he scored 100 in three subjects -- history, geography and political science. “My basic interest lies in political science so I knew that I will score well, but I did not expect to score 100 in other two subjects,” said Jha. He now wants to take up Political Science honours in University of Delhi and is also preparing to sit for the entrance exams for studying law.
The topper said that now he will be able to enjoy his vacations better as the pressure of how the board results are going to be is over.
Jha hails from Kolkata and lives with his father, who works in the railways, and sisters. His mother is a teacher in a government school in Bihar.
“We have not started celebrating completely as my mother is not here. I think she might just give me a surprise visit for the weekend. The celebrations would be better when all of us are together,” said the young boy.
Apart from studies, quizzing is one of Jha’s favourite hobbies, which also gave him the chance of participating in national level competitions. He is also interested in drama and theatre.
