Campus ATM and bank queue tales: Fun for some, trouble for others

The unending queues of students in banks and ATMs around colleges have become too much to handle for the watchmen and the staff. As students started heated economical debates, and gorge on their lunches on the spot, the hapless men wonder how to handle the crowd.

While the ban on notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 has left several college students in troubled waters, it has left the ATM and bank watchmen of the North Campus area in even bigger trouble. The hapless men are having a hard time handling the unending queues of students who line up for hours to exchange their old notes or withdraw cash from the ATM machines.

“ Itna mushkil ho gaya hai sambhalna sabko. Line todd ke sab aage chale aate hain aur ek doosre se laddne lag jaate hain ( It has become so hard to handle everyone. These students break queues and start fighting with each other),” says watchmen Parveen Kumar, adding, “After a while, they even start eating their meals here. It creates such mayhem.”
