The average stipend increased by 32% to Rs 1.06 lakh while the highest stipend was Rs 3 lakh compared to Rs 1.9 lakhs the year before.

Boston Consulting Group, a first time recruiter on campus, offered consulting roles to five students. Other new recruiters included Accenture Strategy, EY, Nestle, Shell, Perfetti Van Melle, DE Shaw, Homelane, Xerox, Boehringer Ingelheim, OYO Rooms and Sony among other companies. Top recruiters include companies like Accenture Strategy, Deutsche Bank, EY, HUL, JP Morgan, Philips and Vodafone. Other companies that participated in the summer placements this year at IIMK includes like HUL, ITC, Philips, Marico, L’Oreal, Godrej, Shell, Kelloggs, Asian Paints, Vodafone, Pidilite, HCCB, Raymond, Idea.

Prof AF Mathew, Chairperson, Placements at IIMK says, “Summer placements play a crucial role as that is the time when the students are able to validate the learning from first year by working on real time industry problems. This helps them either get a pre-placement offer or helps them in their final recruitment process as the companies tend to look out for students with internship experience that is aligned with the role they are offering.”

Students at IIMK received 72 pre-placement offers last year and all the offers were accepted. “Continuing with the upward trend, we are hopeful of a better number of PPOs this year compared to the last year,” Balooni adds.
