All-India science topper Bhoomi Sawant wants to be a computer science engineer
CBSE Class 12 Board results: Bhoomi Sawant says though she did put in hard work for her exams, she did not expect the all-India second rank and 99.4% score
SIRSA: She had come to Sirsa in Haryana from Chandigarh on Saturday to spend some time with her grandparents. On Sunday, after the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 12 Board exam results were announced, Bhoomika Sawant’s happiness knew no bounds after every news channel started flashing her name: She was the second topper in India - and that too with science subjects.

Talking to HT over the phone, Sawant said, “I was sure of getting a good score, but the final result came as a surprise. With 99.4%, I am the second topper in India.”
She said she had worked hard, round the clock, and given more than four to five hours to studies after her school and tuitions. “I am very clear that what I want to do now. I am ready to do a BTech in computer science engineering,” she added.
Her father Deepak, who works with the National Informatics Centre in Chandigarh, and mother Saroj, said they were “very proud that our daughter is the second topper in India. We are also sure that she will top in universities too.”
Bhumika’s maternal grandfather, Balbir Singh Beniwal, is a retired Army-man and her grandmother, Leelawati, a homemaker. “She was here to stay for some days, but after the results were declared she is going back home to Chandigarh. We are very happy for her and may god bless her and may all her dreams come true,” Leelawati said.
