2200 SBI PO jobs: Application process begins, to end on May 24

Of the total 2,200 vacancies SBI PO vacancies, 1,028 posts are for general candidates, 590 jobs are reserved for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, 351 seats are for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 231 seats are for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates.

The application process for 2,200 State Bank of India (SBI) probationary officer (PO) jobs began on Wednesday (May 24) and will continue till May 24, 2016. The bank had earlier issued notification for these vacancies .

Of the total 2,200 vacancies, 1,028 posts are for general candidates, 590 jobs are reserved for Other Backward Class (OBC) candidates, 351 seats are for Scheduled Castes (SC) and 231 seats are for the Scheduled Tribes (ST) candidates.

Candidates can apply for these vacancies from May 4 to May 24 through online mode only.

The examination will be held in two phases: 1) preliminary and 2) main. The shortlisted candidates in the main examination will be called for a group discussion and interview. The preliminary exam will be conducted on July 2, 3, 9 and 10 and result will be declared on July 18.

To be eligible to apply, a candidate must be a graduate in any discipline from a recognised university or have any equivalent qualification recognised by the central government. Those who are in the final year/semester of their graduation may also apply but the condition is that, if called for an interview, they will have to present proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before August 31, 2016. Chartered Accountants can also apply.

A candidate applying for the post should not be below 21 years of age and above 30 years as on April 1, 2016, ie he must have been born not earlier than April 2, 1986, and not later than April 1, 1995 (both days inclusive). However, relaxation of age is provided for all the reserved category candidates.
