Now, PU students can submit anti-ragging affidavits online

The Panjab University (PU) students will not have to stand in queues to submit anti-ragging oath affidavits during admissions. The mandatory oath affidavits can now be filled up on the two websites set up at the national level to deal with ragging in the country.The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET) has already put up a notice for prospective students, while other departments of the university are likely to do so in the next few days before the start of academic session.

UGC nod compulsory for new degree programmes now

In order to rein in private universities, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has asked all institutions not to offer degree programmes without its approval.A letter sent to all universities said if a university wanted to start a degree programme, it would have to get it approved from UGC, six months before it starts admissions into the programme.
