Heard sirens go at 11 am?

No hyphenated mindset, please!

I FEEL concerned when I see hyphenated names of products, like Maruti-Suzuki, Hero-Honda, Shriram-Honda? this proves Indians don?t believe in their abilities, says former UGC chairman professor Yashpal. There is no link between requirement of our industry and IIT course. Brain drain from IITs will continue because the IIT course is designed on the syllabus of foreign countries. Bosses drive a 50, no good!

NEARLY 50 ANTI-ENCROACHMENT drives by various civic authorities in last six months have not been able to remove encroachments from the city roads. Interestingly, after each anti- encroachment drive not only the encroachments have returned with a bang but they are getting thicker with each passing day. Lucknow Municipal Corporation along with LDA and PWD claim to have carried out nearly 50 anti-encroachments drives in the city during the last six months.

Pilgrim from city injured

A PILGRIM of Lucknow Sultan Ahmed got injured in the stampede during the stoning ritual at Mecca on Thursday. The family members of Sultan were worried after listening the news of injury to Sultan. Riaz son of Sultan Ahmed and resident of Indira Nagar area said, ?I was worried about my father as soon as news of stampede at Mecca was aired by various channels on TV.
