The Shiv Sainiks have formed 20 squads to shoot the couples in the camera.
Half of the members will be from the women wing of the Sena led by Anju Tewari. “We have always opposed the influence of western culture on our children. But, people labelled us as hooligans in the past. Learning from those experiences, we have decided to oppose the attack of western culture with different style. Now we will not stop the couples but take their photographs, note down the vehicle numbers and inform their parents. If their parents agree, fine. If they not, fine,” said State President of Shiv Sena Vijai Tewari, talking to HT Lucknow Live on phone from Delhi.
He warned that the V-Day could turn into Danda Chalain Day if their workers are dealt with force by anyone of the couples. The office in-charge of Shiv Sena Ajai Katiyar said, “We will always oppose the V-Day but his time we are not going to burn any cards from the shops, or stop any couple. There is no use of stopping and misbehaving with the couples, when they ditch their parents to meet each other. We have decided to expose them in front of their family members, so that they could be controlled by them. We have formed 20 squads of Shiv Sainiks, which will cover each and every corner of the city, with the still and video cameras. All the parks, restaurants, public places would be under our watch.”
Former district president A Sharma said, “We are not for morale policing but why should we promote bad things on the name of modernization. Most of teenagers fool their parents and indulge in these sorts of relationships. Parents think that their child has gone to school but they keep on roaming with the girls and boys.”
