- From Serum Institute of India manufacturing Covavax’s first batch to Tamil Nadu government extending lockdown in the state, here are the top updates on coronavirus. Serum Institute of India (SII) manufactured the first batch of Covavax vaccine, the company chief Adar Poonawalla said. Meanwhile, a new study said that coronavirus may have emerged in China in early October to mid-November. A study conducted by scientists from the Britain’s University of Kent pinned the “most likely date” to November 17. Officially the first case was reported on December 8 in Wuhan. Also, ICMR DG Dr. Balram Bhargava said that studies are being done to find out how effective vaccines are against the Delta Plus variant of coronavirus.
