Finally, Chandigarh finalises start-up policy, notification likely by month-end

Chandigarh began drafting the policy in 2018, two years after Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the Start-up India Policy and directed UTs and states to frame their own policies tailored to the needs of entrepreneurs in their regions. However, due to several flip-flops, the UT missed multiple deadlines for enforcing the policy.

Finally, after five years, the Chandigarh administration has finalised its start-up policy. The presentation is scheduled before UT adviser Dharam Pal on October 23, with the notification expected in the last week of this month. (HT File)

Chandigarh logs mere 2% jump in GST collection in April

According to the ministry of finance, the collection for April stood at ₹255 crore which is ₹6 crore more than ₹249 crore collected during the same month last year

Chandigarh had recorded a jump of 10.09% in the GST collection in March. The revenue collection settled at <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>202 crore, which was <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>18 crore more than <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>184 crore collected during the same month in 2022. Chandigarh police cracks whip on immigration firms operating without permit

Over 96% students pass middle standard exams in Jammu and Kashmir

As per the data shared by the ministry of finance, the Chandigarh administration collected ₹202 crore in GST in March this year, ₹18 crore more than the GST collected in the same month in 2022.
