Narwekar assures of water, street lights to tenants of MbPA land

Mumbai Port Authority (MbPA) tenants will receive basic amenities such as water supply and streetlights from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) if the MbPA fails to provide them, according to Rahul Narwekar, the state legislative assembly speaker. State sends Indrayani river rejuvenation project to Centre for approval

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has received approval for its Indrayani river rejuvenation project and has submitted a proposal to the Central government. The project aims to restore and clean the river, develop riverfronts, and evaluate the feasibility of a water transport system. The PMRDA has submitted a detailed project report with a budget of ₹577.16 crore to the Government of Maharashtra, and the central government is expected to approve it soon. The project covers 54 villages and towns along the Indrayani River.

Ludhiana: Manhole backflow, Buddha Nullah overflow a double whammy for residents

Residents along the Buddha Nullah are facing a double whammy as the flood-like situation on the streets is causing backflow through manholes and sewage discharge points in their homes. The main sewage pipes are clogged, causing filthy domestic discharge to flow towards low-lying areas. Efforts to stop overflow have resulted in sewage overflow into homes. The situation has affected several areas away from the nullah, with clogged manholes and road gullies. The civic body officials have inspected the affected areas and stated that the water level in the nullah is receding.
