Mridul said she initially mistook her discomfort for a simple dislike of socialising. She also said that her anxiety had been taken for arrogance, as she had a "rigid body stance" that was often misconstrued. Mridul, who is now 47, also revealed that she had previously "drunk a lot" in order to feel confident, but had stopped after realising it was becoming a problem.
