Nehru Park jogging tracks against green norms: Forest department

Deputy conservator forests (south division) Amit Anand, who slapped the NDMC with the notice on December 17 for constructions in Nehru Park, which is a deemed forest, said continuing work despite instructions was a violation of the FC Act.

Forest dept pulls up municipal agency over synthetic tracks at Nehru Park

Deputy conservator of forests (south division), Amit Anand, issued a notice to the NDMC on December 17 stating that Nehru Park is a deemed forest, which means that any non-forest activity, such as construction is not permitted and also in violation of the Forest Conservation Act (1980).

Unemployed teachers protest outside Punjab CM’s house in Patiala

The unemployed TET-ETT pass teachers protested outside the residence of Punjab chief minister (CM) Captain Amarinder Singh over their long-pending demands of employment in Patiala on Saturday. They raised slogans against the Punjab government. In the morning, the teachers from across state gathered at Nehru Park and then marched towards the CM’s residence, where they had planned to sit on a protest.
