PU polls 2023: Uniting the cadre, not entering into alliance helped NSUI script grand win

Party insiders say, a divided cadre, atleast in three groups, was being held responsible for consecutive defeats since 2017. Hence, intervention started from the national-level and some former student leaders from Punjab and Haryana were consulted, especially in view of the fact that the polls come ahead of the Lok Sabha elections slated for next year.

Intruder in PU girls’ hostel: DSW recommends suspension of four, transfer of senior assistant

As per information, a girl student living on the third floor of the PU girls hostel woke up around 3am to find an unidentified person, seemingly in an intoxicated state, in her room. She immediately raised the alarm but the accused managed to flee. The university authorities were informed about the incident on Thursday.

Panjab University (PU) is all set to take action against erring officials posted at Girls Hostel Number 4 after an unidentified person broke into the hostel after 3am on Wednesday and entered a girl’s room. (HT File)

NSUI demands restoration of student union polls

The NSUI office-bearers also demanded that the Lucknow University library should stay open 24 hours a day, and bus fare should be waived off for graduate and post-graduate students.

The student union elections at Lucknow University were last held in 2005. In 2006, it was to be held as per the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations but called off due to vandalism by student leaders over the proposed age restrictions. (HT File)

Lucknow University: NSUI, AISA & other student bodies hold protest against 100 registration fee

Protesters also pointed out that LU has more than 540 colleges affiliated to it and any student who wants to take admission now has to pay ₹100.
