Two patients who died at private hospitals in Pune test positive for Zika

NIV scientist to train Pune health staff to counter Zika threat 

As per officials, the NIV experts are likely to discuss the SOPs to prevent the Zika outbreak in the city. The containment and surveillance activities will be discussed with the officials.

Three Zika virus cases reported in Kolhapur’s Ichalkaranji

The Maharashtra health department has confirmed three cases of Zika virus in Ichalkaranji, including a doctor from Kolhapur. Samples have been sent to the National Institute of Virology for reconfirmation. Surveillance and contact tracing are underway in the affected area.

Monkeypox: 8-year-old reports symptoms in Andhra's Guntur, samples sent to NIV

India has reported four cases of monkeypox so far, of which three cases are from Kerala while one is from Delhi.

The boy was admitted at the Government General Hospital, Guntur.

Covid-19: ‘At-risk' kids under 12 years must be jabbed, says NIV expert

Maharashtra and Telangana have removed the mask mandate from their states in view of declining Covid-19 cases. The DDMA, meanwhile, has announced to no longer impose fines on citizens for not wearing a mask in the Capital.

Omicron alert: Mumbai bans large gatherings for 48 hours, Sec 144 in place
