Srinagar terror attack: Second victim dies; security tightened in city

Terrorists had opened fire on 31-year-old Amritpal Singh, a carpenter, and his associate, 27-year-old Rohit Masih, both from Amritsar in the Shaheed Ganj area. While Amritpal died on the spot, Rohit was rushed to a hospital in critical condition.

Militant attacks rise in Pakistan after Taliban offensive in Afghanistan: report

Attacks in Pakistan attained their highest spike in August 2021. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are heavily affected due to these militant activities. 

This research, conducted by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Study (PICSS), said that the highest number of attacks in a single month in 2021 was recorded in August when 45 attacks were carried out by militants.(AFP)

Two nomads abducted, killed in suspected militant attack in Kashmir’s Tral: Police

Abdul Qadir Kohli from Jammu region’s Rajouri district, and his cousin Manzoor Ahmad Kohli were abducted on the intervening night of August 18 and 19 from Pulwama district’s Tral area by terrorists believed to be from the Jaish-e-Mohammed, police said.

Two members of a nomadic community were killed by terrorists in the higher reaches of Tral in south Kashmir after they were abducted from their temporary shelter last week, officials said Tuesday.

44 J&K policemen killed in militant attacks this year, says govt

At least 44 policemen were killed in militant attacks in different parts of J&K in 2018, which marked the highest number of casualties in the state since 2006. The rebels even abducted and then released family members of the policemen in south Kashmir after the arrest of their relatives.
