At least 12 killed in crush at Indian Ocean Island Games opening in Madagascar.

33 injured people are still in the HRJA Hospital, according to government spokesperson Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy.

The stampede occurred at the entrance to the Barea stadium where a crowd of around 50,000 spectators was present for an event.

The cause of the tragedy was not immediately known but the Red Cross said the toll could climb.

India sending rice, HCQ tablets as humanitarian assistance to Madagascar

The humanitarian assistance is being delivered on-board Indian Naval Ship Jalashwa, which will leave with the food and medical assistance on March 3 and is expected to reach the Port of Ehoala in Madagascar between March 21 and 24, 2021, the MEA said.
