At least 12 killed in crush at Indian Ocean Island Games opening in Madagascar.

33 injured people are still in the HRJA Hospital, according to government spokesperson Lalatiana Rakotondrazafy.

At least 13 killed, over 100 injured in stampede at Madagascar stadium

The stampede occurred at the entrance to the Barea stadium where a crowd of around 50,000 spectators was present for an event.

The cause of the tragedy was not immediately known but the Red Cross said the toll could climb.
