Lok Adalat issues arrest warrant against former Bathinda DC

The Lok Adalat ruled in the complainant’s favour, instructing Bhardwaj to reimburse the plot amount ( ₹22.5 lakh) with 12% interest. Despite the court’s directives, the amount of ₹57.8 lakh was not remitted to the complainant, leading to the issuance of the arrest warrant.

Special ‘lok Adalat’ for 3 days for power consumers’ grievance redressal

The Uttar Pradesh State Legal Services Authority will hold a special 'lok adalat' from January 29 to 31 to address grievances of power consumers, including disputes over power theft and outstanding bills. The lok adalat offers an alternative dispute resolution mechanism for consumers to settle their cases. The Uttar Pradesh government has been implementing measures to improve electricity services and combat power theft, with penalties totaling INR 51.47 crore ($6.9 million) imposed in Greater Noida since April 2022.
