Krishna, better known as Superstar Krishna of Telugu cinema was born in Burripalem, present-day Andhra Pradesh. He made his debut with the film, Thene Manasulu in 1965. He starred in many films like Pandanti Kapuram, Gudachari 116, Anna Thammudu, Rahasya Gudachari and many more. He has collaborated with many directors like Adurthi Subba Rao, K. Viswanath, Bapu and Dasari Narayana Rao. He was honoured with Padma Bhushan by the government of India for his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. He was elected as MP for the Congress party in 1989.
