Survey for revamp of four Delhi markets completed

The Delhi government has completed ground surveys of four markets for redevelopment and will now hold consultations with stakeholders. The government has earmarked ₹100 crore for the redevelopment of markets, which will be implemented by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Common problems identified in the surveys include poor condition of toilets, footpaths, inadequate parking, hanging electric wires, solid waste management, and waterlogging. The government has also engaged the School of Planning and Architecture to carry out a design competition for the markets, aiming to give each a unique outlook.

The redevelopment will resolve problems such as poor condition of toilets and inadequate parking facilities, say officials. (HT File)

Five Delhi University students took on the challenge of finding the perfect summer dress for just INR100 ($1.35) at five markets, including Sarojini Nagar, Janpath, Atta Market, Kamla Nagar, and Lajpat Nagar. Despite their budget, the students managed to find chic and trendy dresses that were perfect for their personal styles. They used their bargaining skills to score good deals and prove that affordable fashion is possible.

Murder in Mahim: Girlfriend held for instigating man to kill 2-yr-old son

The police said Rehmat strangulated his son, wrapped the body in a polythene sheet and tried to throw it in Mithi river. However, the body hit a cable and fell on a rock. If it had fallen in the river, it would have flown away and Rehmat’s plan of claiming his son as missing could have succeeded.

Water supply to be hit in Delhi after spike in ammonia levels

In an official advisory on Monday, DJB said ammonia levels are up to eight parts per million (ppm) in the Yamuna near Wazirabad, leading to curtailment of water treatment in Wazirabad and Chandrawal plants
