Kashmiri leaders condemn Jamaat-e-Islami ban amid tensions

A day after the Jammu and Kashmir chapter of the Jamaat- e- Islami was banned, restrictions were imposed in several parts of the old city of Srinagar and south Kashmir’s Anantnag town over an apprehension of protests.

Kashmir protests: Army asks people not to march towards Srinagar HQ on Monday

After the killing of seven civilians protesting the anti-militancy operation in Pulwama on Saturday, the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) had called for a three day strike and asked people to march towards Badami Bagh cantonment, where the headquarters of the 15 Corps is located, on Monday.

Separatists call for three-day strike against civilian killings during Pulwama encounter

Separatists, under the banner of Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik, asked people to march to the headquarters of the Army’s Chinar Corps at Badamibagh in Srinagar on Monday.

Kashmir Valley shuts after killing of PhD scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani

The Kashmir Valley was shut down on Friday by a general strike called by separatist organisations to mourn the death of PhD scholar-turned-militant Manan Wani, who was killed by security forces on Thursday in north Kashmir’s Handwara.

Shops, public transport, businesses and educational institutions remained closed, skeletal private transport though moved in Srinagar city roads.(AP)
